Window Glass Replacement
Broken, cracked, or fogged window glass replaced in residential and commercial frames.
View serviceLantana is a small town wedged between Lake Worth Beach and Boynton Beach, and the jobs I get called for here split pretty cleanly along one line: whether the house sits on or near the water, or whether it's a block or two inland. That split does more to predict what kind of glass and frame I'm dealing with than the town's small size would suggest.

Lantana Neighborhoods
Hypoluxo Island, the barrier island community at the east end of town, is the clearest example of Lantana's waterfront housing stock. It's a small, mostly residential enclave on the Intracoastal side of town with newer, larger homes and private docks, and it's a different scale of glass and door work than most of the rest of Lantana. West of the island, the older core of town along Lantana Road and around Lake Osborne carries a lot of smaller single-family homes from the postwar decades through the 1970s and 80s, and public housing-market data for the town puts the median construction year around the mid-1970s, well before Florida adopted its modern wind-borne debris glazing requirements after Hurricane Andrew. That's the housing stock where I still find original aluminum sliders and awning windows that have never been touched.
The site of the old A.G. Holley Hospital, a state tuberculosis sanatorium that operated on the west side of town from 1950 until it was demolished in 2014, has been part of Lantana's more recent redevelopment story, and newer construction on and around that footprint looks nothing like the older single-family stock elsewhere in town. Lantana also carries the name of Palm Beach County Park Airport, a county-owned general aviation field that's operated in the area since a wartime airstrip was built there in the early 1940s. It isn't unique to Lantana as a category, plenty of county cities are near an airport, but it's part of what makes the western half of town feel different from the waterfront side.
Local Realities
Lantana's housing mix leans heavily toward detached single-family homes rather than big condo towers, more so than a lot of the county's beach cities. That doesn't mean there's no HOA layer to plan around. Newer subdivisions and the townhome and condo buildings that do exist in town typically have their own architectural or exterior-modification approval process for window and door replacements, and like anywhere, that process is set entirely by the individual association's documents. I don't assume a Lantana HOA works the same way as one two towns over, and neither should a homeowner. Check your association's rules before you order glass.
Coastal exposure in Lantana isn't uniform the way it is on a barrier island town. Hypoluxo Island and the properties closest to the Intracoastal take real salt air and humidity off the water, and I see the same story there that I see on other waterfront properties: aluminum tracks and rollers that corrode faster than the glass itself ages. Head a few blocks west toward I-95 and the exposure story changes. Homes there are still in Florida's wind-borne debris region for code purposes, but they're not taking direct salt spray the way the island side of town is, so the failure pattern on older frames tends to be more about age and general weathering than pure corrosion.
Lantana
Hypoluxo Island sits at the edge of Lantana, but the town doesn't own the whole thing. In 1931, roughly 40 acres on the south end of the island split off to become part of the neighboring Town of Manalapan, and that jurisdictional line still runs across the island today, with most of its homes on the Lantana side and a smaller, more secluded southern section under Manalapan. No other town in this service area shares a barrier island with a separate incorporated municipality the way Lantana does. It's a detail that matters practically, too. Depending on exactly where a Hypoluxo Island property sits, the permitting authority for exterior work on it may not be the Town of Lantana at all, which is worth confirming before assuming which building department to call.

It depends on exactly where the property sits. Hypoluxo Island is split between the Town of Lantana and the Town of Manalapan, so the permitting authority for window and glass work isn't automatically the same for every address on the island. I'd confirm which town has jurisdiction over your specific parcel before assuming.
Not automatically. Existing older aluminum sliders that were never impact-rated aren't required to be swapped out just because they're old, but if you're replacing glass or a full unit, Palm Beach County's wind-borne debris region requirements generally apply to what goes back in. The specific requirement depends on your structure and permit history, so I'd confirm the details with the town's building division.
No. Publix's corporate headquarters is in Lakeland, Florida, not Lantana. Lantana has Publix retail store locations like most towns in the area, but the company's headquarters is elsewhere in the state.
